LEXINGTON HANGAR

The Oklahoma Military Department (OMD) needed to condense the acquisition schedule of a new $10M storage hangar, which provides shelter for four Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopters.

JDS led the owner advisor team to complete both pre-award phases in less than seven months. This included writing the RFQ, short-listing the three most-highly qualified design–build teams, developing the RFP, conducting the proprietary one-on-one meetings, supporting the OMD in the development of selection and scoring criteria, providing contract negotiation support, and awarding the project. Our role in orchestrating the work was especially critical with the constrained schedule.

After the project was awarded, JDS played an advisory role, helping to ensure the DBIA’s Design-Build Done Right™ Best Practices were implemented, resulting in a design and construction phase that concluded less than 14 months after notice to proceed.
